CONTEST #1 - 2008 Commemorative Space Camp Patch - ENTRY DEADLINE - April 31, 2008
Design a patch that we can be used to commemorate the 2008 Space Voyage Academy (this summer's commemorative patch) Please read the instructions below before beginning.
Who can participate? There are two divisions: Pathfinder Division for ages 5 to 8;
Cadet Division for Ages 9 to 16.
Contest Specifications:
1) Your submission should 6" in size. This means when you add the height of the patch plus the width of the patch and divide by two, the size is 6 inches. The actual patch made will be between 2.5 and 4 inches in size.
2) The patch must have the following information on the patch: SPACE VOYAGE ACADEMY, and 2008
3) Submit your art with color (e.g. suggest what colors should be used when the patch is embroidered.) The total number of colors used must be 9 or less. Many rough drafts of patches are done in black and white and then colored using pencils, markers, crayons or the computer. List the patch colors to be used on a Legend Box on the same paper as the patch. Neatness counts and will be used .
4) Be sure to include a description of your patch and include the elements or different items on the patch. (For example, you might include the American flag and say the American flag represents that the camp in an American camp; Or, you might have the Space Shuttle on your patch and suggest that you included the shuttle because this is one of the space craft the Space Voyage uses in it's camp simulation.)
5) Mail your designs to: Contest #1, Space Voyage, 1504 South Johnson Court, Lakewood, CO 80232
Be sure to include: your name, age, return address, email address, grade and school.
6) Winning patches will be displayed on this web site. All entries become property of Space Voyage.
Winners will receive three 2008 Commemorative Patches, as well as Space Voyage gear when they attend SVA this summer.)
7) Space Voyage reserves the right to combine winning entries into one commemorative patch.
