ABOUT THE FOUNDER...
Dr. Mark "Doc" Palmere, Ph.D., is nationally known and recognized for his ability to create educational programs that inspire, motivate and empower. Dr. Palmere's mission statement is: To help parents and teachers help students realize their educational potential. Dr. Palmere holds a Bachelors degree in Biological Science from the University of Nebraska-Kearney (formerly Kearney State College) and a masters degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Nebraska. In 1989, he was the first to earn a dual Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska in the areas of Educational Psychology and School Administration.
Dr. Palmere began his teaching career in 1979 working with gifted and talented and administering a program designed to reduce school drop out by developing individual educational plans for all students near Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Palmere worked with the Houston Independent School District for six years, first as an intern with the district's proficiency test program and as a member of the crisis intervention team, then, as a middle school science and computer literacy teacher.
In 1986 Dr. Palmere founded Space Voyage Simulations. Space Voyage is an educational adventure, immersing students in the cross career skills of thinking like an astronaut. In 1991, USA The Games was created, inviting middle school students to think like an Olympic champion as they learned the science of success. In 1993, Dr. Palmere introduced Inventors' Showcase, an elementary science program based on Edison's model of invention.
