FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Who coordinates setting up a Space Voyage School Seminar? A1: A teacher, principal or parent. The building principal is required to sign the program agreement (contract) between SV and the school.
Q2: Can we remove the consumables to save money? A2: No, they are part of the program.
Q3: How can we get SV to come without having enough students? A4: Invite other students from within your school or from other schools; contact SVA about a prorated program; request a waiver.
Q4: What equipment do we need to supply? A4: Typically, only 18 tales and 24 chairs (some activities do not need chairs), and a TV with VCR or DVD. We provide all hands-on equipment and consumables.
Q5: How do we set up a date to have a seminar? A5: Contact Dr. Palmere with possible dates and check master calendar.
Q6: How many chaperones do you need to help with the program? A6: One chaperone for every 7-10 students and additional chaperones for students needing special assistance. Parent chaperones assist in running some of the activities.
Q7: Do teachers need to attend with their students? A7: The program is a great way to build teamwork and learn about individual learning styles of the students; Other school staff and parent chaperones can take the teacher's role in the program. All parts of the program are run by Dr. Palmere and the program is "renewing" for teachers who attend.
