2010 Marks the 20th Anniversary of  Voyage Academy (SVA)

      It's hard to believe that this summer is the 20th anniversary of Space Voyage Academy.  Space Voyage began as an enrichment project, created by Dr. Palmere and 14 middle school students at Welch Middle School. Dr. Palmere (Mr. P back then) taught about 180 kids per day, with approximately 90 of them in a sixth grade Pre-IB program.  Each year Palmere would roll out 8-12 ideas for enrichment at "Parent Night."  Many parents and local businesses and even local press and TV stations supported the effort to make science  authentic and fun!

      If you know of any of the original 14 who helped create Space Voyage, let them know we'd like to hear from them.

      I hope to capture and document many of the successes from this summer's space camp* in this area of the web site.

     Check back and watch this part of the site grow and grow.

     If your summers not completely full and you have an  interest in space come and join us for a week. All weeks still have availability (except week 9 which is closed). We're having a blast!!
